Gene W. Zdenek, MD, Founded ZEI in 1981

Doc, as those closest to him refer, has 5 grown children and 5 grandchildren. He loves working around the house and fixing (MacGyver-ing) what he can. He loves learning new trades and even more so he loves teaching. He is currently working with his youngest daughter, Christina and fixing the sprinkler & drip system around the yard.

David, Director of Operations, with ZEI since 2008

Dave is the younger of two boys and loves to hang out with his dog, Abe. He is a master chef in his kitchen and staff loves when he brings in leftovers. His favorite meal to cook is Chili & Beef Stroganoff. Although he can't take FULL credit for his culinary arts, he has learned a lot from his Mom & Grandma. Although Chili is a winter dish, he loves the summer sun & heat (well, only if there is air conditioning).

Jennifer, Optical Reflections Manager, with ZEI since 2000

Jennifer is the middle of 5 siblings and loves hanging out with her nieces. She is also Godmother to her best friends little girl, born in 2010. On the weekends she loves to help dogs find their "Forever Home" at pet adoptions and train her foster dogs. The spring months are the best time to be outdoors with the dogs and enjoy a little sunshine. As far as vacationing goes, she would love to spend 4 weeks in Hawaii...actually if she went to Hawaii for 4 weeks, she might not come back :)

 

Raul, Building Manager, with RMB since 1994

Raul has been with Reseda Medical Building since 1994. He has 3 grown kids and 5 grandkids. In his spare time he loves fixing up his motorcycles and old cars. He is the flirt of the office and always lends a hand to the woman in the office whenever they need some 'muscle help' with a project. Smiling through the office he keeps our workplace clean and running without problems.

Alexine, but most call her Alex, was born and raised in Lancaster, CA and moved to the Valley about three years ago.   Some of her favorite things to do when she is not at work or busy with school include running, yoga and playing with her evil kitten, Stevie. If she could take a 4 week vacation anywhere in the world it would probably be a backpacking trip through South America or Asia because she finds their cultures so fascinating. Her favorite part about working here at ZEI is the family atmosphere that brings both the patients and the employees closer together.

 

Ingrid, Front Office Secretary, with ZEI since 2010

Ingrid is the baby in the family and loves to spend her free time with her niece, princess Aryanna. You can also find her sweating up a storm in the gym, either boxing or weight lifting...however, running on the treadmill is by far her favorite. Ingrid would like to travel more throughout Europe. She is very grateful to be working with an amazing doctor who takes the time to educate us and answer any question we may have. Ingrid seems to have lots of questions since this is her area of interest and will soon be studying to be in the medical field this coming year. The best of Luck, Ingrid! 

 

Magen, Ophthalmic Technician, with ZEI since 2010

Magen is the youngest in her family, and has two amazing nephews that she loves kicking the soccer ball around with. She loves the outdoors, particularly when the summer sun is shining. She typically goes out on hiking or climbing adventures when she isn’t outside training for her upcoming marathon. She loves to raise awareness for cancer and contribute to the fundraising efforts toward research and patient support. She’s currently in school at CSUN doing a post-bachelor’s to finish her pre-med classes. She would love to travel to South America to hang out in Brazil during the next World Cup and take a quick trip to Peru to climb atop Machu Picchu.

 

Rosie, Optical Reflections Optician, with OR since 2011

Rosie has been a great addition to the family. She comes to us with years of experience in Rendondo Beach & San Diego. Great at choosing a frame to accent your favorite features, Rosie will help you choose the eye glasses which are right for you. With a wealth of contact lens knowledge she will help you become a proficient lens wearer. Rosie has the support of her wonderful husband, 3 step children & 3 dogs.

 

Zasha, Optical Reflections Secretary, with VMS/ZEI/OR since 2009

Zasha is practically the baby of the family except for the little brother (who can actually claim the title). One of her favorite things to do is sit in front of the fire with a good book and her dog, Logan on her lap. When she is not hanging out with her dog she is usually with friends at a BBQ. She loves to listen to live music and likes to go out dancing. If she could go anywhere for 4 weeks she would go camping at Sequoia National park with her family...because there is no entertainment like family entertainment.
