Zdenek Eye Institute: About the Staff

	Margaret Gonzalez, Front Office Manager, is also a certified laser systems operator. If you call our office you will be greeted by Margaret's friendly and calming voice. She handles insurance data entry and triage for all telephone calls. Margaret began working at the Institute in April of 1990. She is the proud mother of three children (Christine, Raul Jr., Angie) and two grandchildren (grandson Raul III and granddaughter Marissa).
	Wendy Schneider, Financial Manager, has worked with Dr. Zdenek since 1991. Wendy has many years of experience in ophthalmology. After college she worked as a scrub technician at Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital. Upon relocating to California, Wendy worked with one of the pioneers in laser surgery. She now manages all financial responsibilities for the Institute which includes Optical Reflections, Valley Multi-Specialty Surgery Center and the medical office. Wendy had the LASIK procedure last June (see testimonials). She traveled extensively with her family to the far corners of the world. Her son Neal has a Masters in Education and is currently a teacher at Castaic Union School District. Her daughter Danielle, a UCLA graduate, is working on residency in pediatrics at USC.
	Raul Garcia, Building Manager, has been handling all of the videography, maintenance and repairs of the Zdenek Eye Institute since 1994. His interests include boxing and coin collecting. Raul has witnessed so many cataract surgeries (through videotape) that he is the unofficial expert guide to our cataract patient friends and families. In his off hours, Raul puts on his other hat to disc jockey parties.
	Hida Hashemieh, Manager of Optical Reflections. Hida has been with the Institute for since 1997. She started as an extern with Dr. Zdenek while completing her certification in American Board of Opticians and National Contact Lens Educator program. She is also a certified laser systems operator and a COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant). Hida was one of Dr. Zdenek's first LASIK patients (see testimonials) and has been a patient of the Institute for more than eight years. She lives in Tarzana, California with her husband, and her 11 year old daughter.
	Sue Anderson, Technology Aide, has been working with the Institute since September of 1999. She is responsible for the website and takes care of all computer issues in the office. She lives in West Hills, California with her husband Greg, 21 year old son Glen, daughter Jill who is a junior at Chaminade High School this year.
	Jennifer Zdenek has been working with Dr. Zdenek since January of 2002. Jennifer has the formidable position of scheduling patient surgeries, ordering supplies, coordinating our FDA studies and keeping everything (and everyone) running smoothly in the surgery rooms. We try to stay on her good side since she is well connected and has quite a large Rottweiler ironically named "Petalz".
	Dr. Gene W. Zdenek, the "boss", affectionately known as "Doc", surrounds himself with women because he truly appreciates their logic and charm. Doc lives in West Hills with his wife Betty. They are very proud of their five children. The oldest Chad is married to Alexa and was recently rewarded his professional engineering certificates in both Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Jason is the president of a holiday and special event lighting company - Mobile Illumination and recently married Lisa. Jennifer, his oldest daughter is now working as an administrator at Zdenek Eye Institute. Eric is attending UCLA having just completed a semester of study abroad. Last but not least is Christina who is in her sophomore year at Utah State University playing womens basketball and taking pre-veterinarian courses. The entire family (Christina is off of the hook in Utah) keeps very busy during Christmas Season helping Jason with MI.
